Aid to Incarcerated Mothers/Child Custody Workshop

AIM’s focuses on mothers with children who have trouble with the criminal justice system. It provides comprehensive clinical, legal advocacy and other support services to women in and out of prison, including the following; Individual one-on-one therapy and counseling; psychological assessments; Psychopharmacology; Legal training or ex-offending women on DSS and legal issues around domestic/violence/sexual assault and family law; Referrals to other agencies for assistance with housing and areas of particular importance to women with children; Support services and emergency assistance for basic necessities; Women’s groups, Anger Management, Self-esteem re-enforcement and Relapse Prevention. Volunteers from Aid to Incarcerated Mothers provide child custody education workshops and transportation for children from the Boston area to visit their mothers. These workshops and services are available at MCI Framingham and South Middlesex.

Program Population: 

Women seeking information regarding child custody issues-i.e. court issues (juvenile probate), DCF issues, legal issues.

Program Capacity: 

Twenty women served per ten week cycle.
