Mary Hall Freedom House (MHFH)

Mary Hall Freedom House provides a wide variety of services for women and women with children in order to improve their quality of life by empowering them to break the cycle of addiction, poverty and homelessness. Their treatment services include residential, day, and intensive outpatient treatment as well as mental health services. The Work NOW (Needed Opportunities for Women) Program is designed to eliminate barriers to employment for women by providing fundamental training and addressing employment requirements. Vocational instruction and educational programs are provided, as well as an on-site GED program. In partnership with various healthcare professionals, the House has a Medical Clinic that provides quality healthcare services to women who are uninsured and underinsured. Various housing programs are offered, including the community housing for women and women and their children who are participating in MHFH treatment programs, housing for sober living women and women with children, and housing for homeless women and women with children in need of supportive services. The agency also provides emergency housing at Trinity Hall. For women with children, MHFH offers therapeutic daycare, family counseling and reunifications, parenting classes, after-school programs and psychological counseling for children to deal with their mother’s addictions. MHFH's Elizabeth Place provides housing and substance abuse services for homeless veterans. Evidence-based practices include: cognitive behavioral therapy, reality-based therapy. Curricula include the NIC's Thinking for a Change.
